09 July 2021 - Lockdown Composer V2.0 Release
We are super excited to announce the release of Lockdown Composer V2.0, scheduled for 09 July 2021. This release focuses on the ability to create and shape sounds, for use by the Slicer and Composer. We have introduced the following new units:
Lockdown Pad-Lock
A grid layout of all the slices that you fave in the Slicer (upto 64 slices in total), which you can use to play and layer your sounds.
Lockdown Player
An adaptable grid of notes that you can play and shape over selected loops on the Composer. You can prime the Player using a Sampler or Synth, enabling you to sample pretty much anything and create awesome new instruments. You can sample and play slices from the Slicer or the new Drummer unit. You can also generate and play some wonderfully diverse sounds from the new Synth.
Lockdown Synth
Be prepared to be amazed by the sheer range of sounds that emerge from the new FM Synth. Using a cool new design and minimalist layout, you can produce awesome new sounds very easily, which you can play, record, slice and sample endlessly.
Lockdown Drummer
A flexible, sample-based, drummer that can be tailored using slices from the new Pad-Lock unit. You can also sample and shape sounds from the Slicer and the new Synth unit, via the Player. Designed with a performance-oriented approach in mind, you can tailor, fine tune and play along using the 16 pads. The new Drummer works in close sync with the new Player and Padlock to grab, pitch and shape sounds for any drum with ease.
- Expanded Master Out Recording - The Master Out Recorder now records pretty much anything you do in the Studio. You can record performances from the Pad-Lock, Synth, Drummer, Slicer and the master sequencer in the Composer. Then re-slice, re-sample, shape using the FX-Racks and go again ....
- Ramping Patterns - We have introduced an 'info-mode' for patterns on the sequencer, which we will use in future to help you shape and tailor the sounds more easily within each pattern. For this release, you can ramp the volume up and down for any slice on the Sequencer.
- Sample Downloader - You can now download samples from the Slicer.
- Faved Slice Position Anchor - We have introduced a locator icon on faved slices. You can still position faved slices whilst playing to test slice transitions between faved and transient slices, but you can now also relocate and anchor the Slicer to any faved slice position using a single click. This is really useful when you are testing different slice transition scenarios, but want to easily reposition the Slicer to its designated position for song structures that use transient slices from the Slicer.
- New Slice Cutter - You can now use the new cut facility to trim and tailor your samples in-place using the Slicer. Easily cut out the bits you don't need to keep your samples short and relevant.
Fixes and Enhancements
- We fixed a bug that sometimes left residual players after deletion of patterns on the Sequencer.
- We improved the rename handling for faved slices on the Slicer, which could lead to inaccessible slices on the Slicer.
- We have removed the Song Beat control from the Slicer. The Slicer, Drummer and the Player now use the master Song Beat control on the Sequencer if required.
- We have undertaken a range of new measures to improve the resource-handling and performance of the Studio.
- We have also undertaken significant enhancements in the responsive mode of the Studio for mobile devices. Responsive mode is still in experimental state, but it should be more stable and usable, including the layout and styling of all the new units.
New Trial Edition
We have replaced the Lite Edition with a Trial Edition. The new Trial Edition will enable you to use all the latest units and upload your own sample files, without any time restrictions. The main restrictions being the ability to download audio files, load project files or pro templates.
